DIY can be too much work for the non-crafty, lets be honest.  Also, if not done well, DIY doesn’t look too hot. Tha t said,  some DIY is so simple & gorgeous that it is astonishing!  Here is a little round-up for you of DIY projects that are super-simple (like the Free People DIY lightbulb vases above!) to upgrade the Plain Jane stuff looming around your house. 

Sharpies mugs are literally sharpies used to draw on porcelain mugs that are baked in an oven as instructed HERE & above!  Cool, right?

These lace flower pots are an excellent example of small ways to upgrade things in a huge way. 

Or how about these color blocked coasters that are supremely elegant from Poppytalk?  They require very little skill and minimal material for maximum panache!
