Watercolor has an inherent light within it, which makes it a perfect medium to express the delicate, intriguing and somewhat celestial. I am in love with watercolor walls. They are a rare breed in wall painting, a true art form. You can have almost no furniture and watercolor walls will create a transporting masterpiece. Here are some fabulous watercolor interior walls mixed with a dose of unforgettably sensuous art . You’ll see what I want to attempt a big watercolor project on the walls of my new bedroom….its graphic and divine!
Its not quote the swirl of watercolor, but the bleeding hues are a great way to kick off this inspiration project! Imagine if they were dripping more into one another, a but more luminous, like this:
There’s something about feathering edges of color stretching to find their perfect place. There is a sense that everything is as nature intended it, a perfect bit of imperfection.
Apricot swirls and gathers in pools as though the walls are dynamically moving. Brilliant flow is added by the watery swaths of paint.
Sam Francis always leaves me energized and mystified.
Loving this luminous, glazed finish and the daring of adding more deep and intense colors in the mix.
Sexy power, a piece of art that almost sings, by Cy Twombly. And it is echoed here beautifully:
Watercolor is as masculine as it is feminine, as yin as it is yang, and as lovely as can be. While I am sure there is more than a bit of skill required to pull off one of these walls, its certainly worth the effort. Watercolor: it just doesn’t get more poignant and transporting! xoxo Dana
