We all have specific beauty needs, and its very gratifying to address your questions, so today’s Balanced Beauty with celebrity makeup artist and balanced beauty expert Chantal Moore is a how-to prompted by a question from a reader who couldn’t keep her lipstick on long enough.  Sit tight and you’ll learn how to make your lipstick really last!

The question asked : “Can you please do me a favor ..Do you know  how to keep lipstick on for longer?  Is there something I can put over the top of any lipstick to hold it in place.  I already do the foundation and powder thing on my lips prior to lipstick application.  This works OK for some lipsticks, however my favourite lippy always wears off very quickly, so I find myself not using it as much as I’d like.  Thank you in advance :)”

Chantal’s Answer:

How to Keep Lipstick on Longer
cargo_lipgloss“There are many factors that affect lipstick wearability. The condition of your lips is a major one so make sure you are including your lips in a regular skin care routine. The foundation and powder trick is good but also remember to line your lips after that step, apply your lipstick and then blend more liner into the lipstick to set it as a final step. Invest in a good nude liner which can go under any  lipstick shade. Lastly the formula of the lipstick has everything to do with how well your lipstick stays in place. If your lipstick is not formulated for long wear- there isn’t much more you can do to hold it in place. There are many long wear formulas out there on the market these days. Find one that suits your needs. The new Cargo Spring 2013 Lipgloss Collection is clinically proven to last up to 6 Hours while moisturizing your lips.”
