We all need spaces that are grounded and focused. We all need to be grounded and focused. That said, lots of times we create rooms with no sense of gravity and we hang out on the sides of the space tentatively. You wouldn’t want to hang out tentatively on the sidelines of your life, would you? Here’s a feng shui interior design idea to help you feel that center of gravity and get into the core of things in a great way…!
While a piece of furniture won’t solve every problem in your life (!) a coffee table can help you to feel more grounded in your gathering space, even if you life in a studio. Round coffee tables, specifically, invite a sense of equality and dynamism. While some caution that circles can “spin” energy and dissipate your “good luck” that is a bunch of absolute nonsense. Circles preserve flow in a room while bring in focus!
Above, a circle invites sophistication and really diffuses the intensity of a very sofa-chair-bench-heavy seating rectangle.
See how a circle pulls together all these different seats into a more dynamic whole?
Even though this one is glass, adding some deliberate and engaging books atop this table gives it “weight”. This room is an idea example of structure and free-form design. I LOVE it!
So, if you are “hanging out” on the sidelines of your rooms, consider a coffee table. Maybe even a circle if you are ready to gather up a more dynamic flow in your social life!
