Japanese textile artist Mana Morimoto, also known as MNMRMT, has officially taken hold of my imagination!  I am loving all of the woven bits, the pastel colors, the intensity of the gazes being portrayed in silky string…all of it!

How lyrical and unraveling is this brilliant woven piece?

Where craft, art & popular culture meet, this is the synergy of nature and the modern universe.  Embroidered ticket stubs take saving a memento of a cultural event to a new level.

This brings home so many memories of needlepoint as a little kid with my godmother from Poland who made every stitch impeccable and loved these robin’s egg hues.

How magical is the idea of using this silken thread to direct sensory impulses and show the flow of energy?!

Buy now, I simply have to try weaving something.  I forget that fabric is spun from single threads and that is so important to remember.  Life spins that same way, doesn’t it?

You can find more of Mana Morimoto’s work HERE.   I hope you enjoy it as much as I do…!  xoxo Dana
