In the last year or so, my sentiment toward conventional nail polish as ” no big deal if it has a little formaldehyde in it” to total inability to paint the average nail polish on my nails.
The toxin triumvirate in average nail polish is astonishing: DBP (a reproductive toxin), formaldehyde (a carcinogen) and toluene (that impacts your central nervous system among its side effects). While I made a case for the fact that I wasn’t “eating” the polish, I realized that each time I went to get my nails done at a salon I would feel… not well.
When Celebrity makeup artist and balanced beauty expert Chantal Moore started introducing me to the world of incredible nail polishes that are free of the toxin trio, I was thrilled. Today she shares an exquisite line that will rival even your favorite conventional lacquers in magnificent color and shine, and it even looks like art in the bottle!
From Chantal: On the Sheswai Lacquer website you are greeted immediately with the gorgeous logo- “Sheswai Lacquer…..modern glamour with a rootsy feel.” It’s a perfect description for the feel of this brand. I love to discover products with a conscience. I really care about the intention behind the brand. The lovely founder of Sheswai Lacquer is Debbie Leavitt- a Southern California born and raised, eco-focused, celebrity manicurist that works with the biggest names in fashion & film. Even before I realized that she was an artist with my agency, Cloutier Remix, I was in love with her Sheswai Lacquer. Sheswai Lacquer has an enchanting collection of colors housed in the most beautifully designed, eye catching packaging- gorgeous gold graphics and sustainably harvested wood handles. No polish bottle has ever inspired me more to want to paint my nails. I have so many Sheswai Lacquer favorites.
Honeyfox, seen here, is one of my all time favorite reds….
Sheswai Lacquer is cruelty-free and does not contain formaldehyde, toluene and DBP’s.
This beloved California brand evokes natural beauty & sunshine and will inspire a strong desire to wear sandals in a snowstorm. Learn more about the brand here.
