Neutral is not always blah. Beige is not boring. What makes great design balanced in a feng shui sense has to do with a mix of elemental materials, light and great placement in design. Popping colors are not required, even though I tend to be heavy-handed with them myself. In fact, these spare palettes can be both calming and inspiring to the wildly busy among you who need a house of calm refuge and retreat.
Here are some neutral rooms with balance and style that is anything but boring!
Just a little chrome and black helps this room to come together beautifully.
Now, this is a kitchen I approve of, with so much greenery and neutral tones, the draining energy of the kitchen sink is more than balanced.
Simple is almost always best.
Layers on layers of texture here creates a smashing space!
Again, some fluffy feeling feathers brings welcome and the shades of beige are warm and inviting.
So, don’t worry if you are attracted to beige and collecting lots of neutrals in your life. Use texture to warm things up. Add a bit of shine or pattern. Make sure there is lots of light. And… enjoy the calm. xoxo Dana
