Crystals are borne of the Earth in magnetic arrangements. I have always wondered who had the first thought to seek to mine them throughout history.
I also wonder if these stones “spoke” to the earliest healers who used their purported powers to lift spirits and heal illness.
I am always enchanted by the stories of stones and what they symbolize. While I do not believe that every stone has the same affect- or even any effect- on everyone- I have seen that gems, minerals and even stones that people love do have their own radiant power. You can feel them before you see them.
Today’s bit of decor’spiration mixes crystals into homes! You are going to love this… especially the amazing video at the end of a young boy who has a lot to tell you about his own crystals at home!
Integrated into dreamcatchers, hanging on pendants… this is a striking wall!
This custom cabinet houses a gorgeous configuration of gems. I may actually get two of these for my living room!
Geodes are explosively expansive, lined with diamond-like minerals.
THESE amethyst points have got my attention. I have a strong artistic desire to make a big grid filled with these, and clear quartz and also some citrine and rose quartz. I sort of see it in my house. There’s no metaphysical reason, though there is a deep creative impulse to do it.
This child may astonish you. He seems to be far more tuned in to nature and the quantum that any adult I know.
Not sure if anything he is saying is true or if this is real- but it really makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?
Maybe we can all learn to hear stones and feel nature in ways that communicate lightness and brightness and more truth? I am very certain that if you fill your home with natural gems that you feel attracted to, they will lighten and calm and definitely personalize your space with your story.

Love my crystals and some of those photo’s are just so devine, I want more! xx N
Always love seeing those colorful amethyst geodes in use. The other alternative are natural geodes, unheated, untreated, and they balance well against wood and other stone for a more subtle look but you still achieve that strong impression from a geode statement piece. It’s a different look when using natural, unheated, undyed geodes, but may be perfect for some homes and offices and places set aside for daily personal reflection. – Charles
Hi Dana,
Positively love your site, such a fresh and modern take on a traditional concept. My question is about decorating in the bedroom. I’ve got a new boyfriend (4 months), the relationship is going so well, and we take lots of pictures which I want to display in my bedroom. I know that no pictures on single objects or people are allowed, but would it be acceptable if the picture is of my boyfriend while we were together at dinner and it’s of him laughing? Also may I put a picture of he and I from the beach in the bedroom? Thanks so much
oh yes! its really not about “what is allowed” it is about “what it means to you.” I love this idea.. what a great photo that will be!!! & thank you so much! xoxo
Hi Dana
Love your website and the great information offered.
Would you happen to know where I can source the palms in supplication (with the gems in supplication.
Thanks,
Audrey
I’ve only seen those in vintage shops, but you can put them in google and search to see if shops have them near you!
