Bohemian chic, polished-yet-Earthy aesthetics need not be reserved for the yearly jaunt to Coachella to sleep in a luxurious teepee or to go glamping in the modernized woods. In fact, even the most Hyper-Minimalist, Modern Art loving Techies can benefit from a bit of the haute hippie, Earth-element, Nature-infused glory in design.
Here’s a fairly modern space, made a bit softer with handmade baskets and a big, meditative mandala on the wall.
While Mother Earth is front-and-center in a bold statement, the simple take-away from this space is the way that a sleek table and chair are integrated with potted plants and hand-loomed carpets.
Drape a futon in handmade fabric or a handira to evevate things. And a sculpture to an unusual place in your house- your front door, your dresser, your kitchen countertop?- to bring new character and a sense of greater repose to the space.
Oh what a difference some macrame can make!
And: wow do I ever love when a fabulous texture is tossed over a bed! The handira pillow and softness of floppy leaves healthy plants feel like I imagine fresh air looks.
Just a bit of the Earth-borne, handmade, grounding, muti-sensory, textured and plant-fueled Boho style dramatically relaxes a home and brings it vast inspiration. Earth gives life to all of life; live with a bit more of it, organically!
