There are many design-shifting, space-making aspects of wire chairs that have me scouring the Internet for a pair for my own living room! Not only are they near-transparent- so they work in spaces that would feel restricted by “solid” chairs, they are very “light” feeling in a room full of substantial furniture and bring in socializing style without distracting, weighty presence. You can over them with cushions, faux fur or even knit, or leave them bare for a stark and lyrical side more to a space to counterbalance the plush. The design ‘spiration of the day… in such simplicity yet such high style.
These cushions bring the sculptural chairs to a place of magnetic interest.
While bare… painted white these chairs are barely there, almost an optical illusion that makes everything feel enchanted.
Some cushions turn this artful outdoor seating into such welcoming womb chairs.
Fluff and plush and crimped and textured… how easily these chairs convert into luscious lounging.
And the sweetest touch of weave really brings this wire bucket seat to a new level. (PS: there are DIY’s on using the wire frame of one of these chairs as a base to weave and knit thick wools into whole new chairs… its a commitment, but enormously one-of-a-kind! )
There is a solution for every space. Dare to experiment, to try new materials, new design aesthetics, add lightness where things are heavy… and create rooms that you want to welcome people into!!! xoxo Dana
