Posters. We collect them as kids. Some of us get attached to them from concerts and museum openings. Now, with inspirational quotes and design, they are all the decor rage starting with the classic “Keep Calm And Carry On” of many years ago that rocketed the trend. Movie posters are a fanatical collecting artform. Expressive and loaded with memory, message and graphic wonder, posters are a fabulous way to style your style into your home.
I could find no better way to kick off a conversation on posters and style than this classic DIY from Lay Baby Lay that is truly chic and simple for posters that look precious!
Next time you see a great museum exhibition, commemorate it with a poster!
How about some hangers and a grid of wood or pipes to hang them on?
And before you jump to conclusions that posters don’t read as “real” art, if you create grids and visual vicabulary from even the simplest of posters, you create unmistakable installations of art.
Posters: style, simplicity, awesome color, amazing messages and memories. Plus, they are an easy grab when you want to light up your walls and stir either nostalgia or dreams to life!
Do you have posters on your walls?! I’m so curious….! Please let me know….I am always dying to know more about collections and art in your homes!!! xoxo Dana
