When you’re really showing up for everything in your life, it’s all so much more sparkling and fulfilling.
It’s so much easier to do everything from present time.
That said, the more stuff – and the more people- you have in your life, the more you need to show up.
I see people who are magnets of great things and people- the partner, the home, the kids, the extensive friends, the hobbies and passions- and while they can scoop them all up and they do love them, they can’t be present for all of it. There’s too much, and it’s too easy to get swept into different directions.
Everything withers from neglect.
They’re left wondering how and why it happened this way.
It’s not a fault of not caring, it’s purely a lack of attention.
Today’s feng shui is all about growing the things you love in your life. It’s a decision to direct your energy where you want it to go. What you decide will shape your whole life.
Stop paying attention to your house and it will get covered in dust at the very least.
Stop watering your plants and they’re going to wither.
Stop playing with your pets and they’ll be depressed and less vital.
Stop feeding yourself and you’ll be hungry.
Stop putting the things and people that matter most to you as a priority- even if they can’t be first in your schedule every single day- and you’ll see things crumble.

“12. Love requires attention.
Love doesn’t ignore. It doesn’t look the other way. It wants to be present and be together. When people are in love, sometimes they think that they don’t have to “do any more work.” But real love actually enjoys giving attention to another person. It feels good, and doesn’t see giving attention to another person as a chore.”
There’s this philosophy of “going with the flow” and it’s perfect and it’s energetically correct. The thing it leaves out, though,or the thing that popular culture tends to forget about is this:
You have to direct the flow.
If you “go with the flow”without direction every day, you might have great days in some respects where the garden turns brown, you never exercise and you’re only eating what’s around in front of you.
That’s typically what happens when we take the idea of “let’s just see what happens” and run with it.
What happens without energy and care and attention is typically nothing.
It’s like saying that the Universe will come to clean your house, do your prayers, meditate for you and write your emails. It’s like saying that some grand force of fate will take care of your life and everything you love if you can’t keep your eye on it all…
It’s a form of quitting and checking out on things and people.
Neglect isn’t always conscious, but it’s effects are startling and super-clear.
When you feed the love in your life- including your passion and faith and loved ones- it helps you grow life so much bigger with so much more ease.
Are you feeding and watering the love that’s in your life?
Are you being fed and watered by the love that’s in your life?
They go hand in hand.
If you’re not getting what you need, you probably aren’t giving it either.
Neglect breeds neglect. It’s a cycle you’ll want to break as soon as possible.
What if you take the reins and start directing the flow of your day toward everything that’s been left for the Universe to take care of in your absence?
Shape your days and your life so you can be more present.
Feng shui directs the flow where you want your energy to go. It’s a conscious decision.
If you love your life and the greatness in it, feed it well. To give care to the projects and people and pets and homes you love should be a joy. That joy will beam back at you, and it will grow and grow!
