Today, I wanted to share a handful of feng shui tips you can use right now to get your energy moving.
These tips are meant to be: customized, experimented with and/or totally ignored when they don’t feel right!
With all that said, let’s look at some easy ways to change your space + shift the energies in your life!
(these herb smudge sticks are on Etsy)
Mirrors get cleaner. A clean mirror reflects strong, clear energy. polishing mirrors is a great metaphor for polishing up your life. In fact, if you are up for some Vintage You Tube you can learn more about mirrors HERE.
Take out the trash regularly. Trash = stagnation. You want to keep life in flow! And, as a bonus here, really be mindful of the amount of trash you generate. The more you recycle properly, compost when you can and purchase in bulk and less in packages, the more you’ll be supporting the planet. This is an awesome way to tap into Nature and soar with more abundance.
Space Clearing can be done daily. Break out those sage wands and start opening up the flow where things are stuck in the air.
Plants amplify everything– the clean air, the creative energy, abundant growth-in a home as long as they are thriving! Grow. Care. Love. Grow. Care. Love.
Wire confusion = life confusion. Wires pop out in homes in the craziest places… cable cords, nightstand lamps…. and desks… omg… all that wire confusion causes mental snares as well. HERE are some awesome hacks to hide wires. (I love each one except the power strip in the bedroom- you want to keep electronics out of the bedroom as much as possible!)
See the door. When you sit down to work be sure you have a view (or a reflection) of the door or entrance area to the room you are in. Also, try as much as you can to stand when you work or take loads of standing/stretching breaks.
Punchy bright color. Use a dash of fire color to direct attention where you want it to go. Red, violet, magenta, orange, pink… let the punch bright fire colors draw attention toward your favorite rooms, your office that feels unmotivated right now, the healthy food bins in your pantry, the fruit bowl, your favorite books on the shelf… let the fire colors bring energy to the things you love!
Deep deep deep cleaning (especially in your room corners) is an awesome way to amplify the prosperous vibrance of any room or your whole home! This you can do monthly. I do it weekly when I am super-busy. It’s a burst of refreshment!
Simple stuff, all of it! When it’s complex, it ceases to be liberating and enjoyable, and that’s the opposite of the feng shui that I’ve seen completely transform homes + lives for the brighter + better!
Have fun!!!
xoxo Dana

Hi Dana,
I was wondering if certain ceiling colors cause bad feng shui. My child’s bedroom has light green walls with a (very light) blue ceiling. The ceiling has little clouds painted all over it, and while my child thinks it is very cute, I am starting to wonder if it is bad feng shui for her. Besides sleeping, she also plays and draws in her room, if that helps. I cannot repaint it at the moment, but any cures, if possible, would be appreciated. Thank you 🙂
It sounds lovely and if she likes it that’s lovely!!!
