5 Home Habits That Can Keep You Focused On Your Personal Mission!

Jun 9, 2020 | Prosperity

It’s late today to be writing. But it’s not a normal time. 2020 has crushed the idea of normal, and for that I am grateful.

Normal wasn’t working in so many ways fo so many people, and out of this time rises more calls for peace, justice, equality and an overall transformation.

Transformation takes time and focus. Love and willingness. Energy and openness.

Today, we’re going to talk about some powerful ways your space can help you to keep your eye on the prize and support you through the change and evolution of transformation.

This Feng Shui has always been for everyone. It’s been stripped of the superstition, exclusion, confusion, fear, disempowerment and limitations that most Feng Shui operates upon. That wasn’t how Feng Shui began though: it’s fundamental tools are, at their core, about your infinite possibility, creativity, intention and the power of creating in harmony with the forces of Nature.

For me, it was always about supporting happiness and focus, fortifying myself with high vibes and new messages that helped me to evolve. It worked to bring my mind into clear focus, and my energy into more focused action.

So, of course I wanted to share it.

I never thought that it would have become this as it has, which is why I have been so utterly beyond grateful for each and every one of you. It’s thrilling to hear that this blog and the work has helped you to focus, uplift, heal and support your own transformations over the last decade.

There are a few specific shifts and habits I’ve added to my home that have significantly lifted my power to focus and I hope they are as helpful to you as they’ve been for me.

While these may seem small, they can be first steps to connecting with the power of your home or they can be major up-leveling at home.

1 — Daily surface cleaning. I grab a slightly damp microfiber cloth (or any dust cloth you’ve got) and start with my desk, wiping down every surface and screen. I move on to the coffee table, bookshelves, counters, table tops and everywhere else.

This isn’t just about cleaning. The action is a moving meditation of sorts that can help you to get into a frame of mind to create more clarity all day long.

2– Add flair to the small things. The everyday things like the spoons and forks in your kitchen drawer can be polished and organized. The fruit in your fruit bowl can be arranged for a moment. You can sharpen all your pencils or re-fold your t-shirts. Whatever you look at daily can get a dose of your special touches. Believe it or not, I have had the same feeling of renewal from organizing my kitchen utensils as I’ve had from buying a new piece of furniture. Don’t discount the small things– they are big things.

3– State your focus loud and clear. Put a post it on your computer screen or write a few words of focus on a chalkboard on your wall. you’ll see it all day long even when you’re not directly looking at it, absorbing your focus into your everyday life.

4– Greet your home with a “good morning!” every day and end the day with “thank you!” and expression of your gratitude. When the pandemic began, this was one of the habits that helped me to feel incredibly safe and supported at home.

(passion planners are now on sale for $7.00!)

5– Make your schedule + learning very central. I can’t say enough about the power of planning my days on paper as opposed to creating more screen things for me to look at all day long.

If you don’t have a planner and use your computer to schedule things, see what happens if you write out your goals on paper every day to start the day, referencing your computer calendar. The act of writing is so immensely powerful to help you get grounded and focused.

One tip: making a clear and lovely-looking list makes a difference in getting things done. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but the more creative you are the more you’ll feel this list has magnetic power every day.

One more: put the books you’re reading and other learning you’re doing front and center in your home where you sit to relax. You’ll always have them on hand and your phone will fade in prominence.

Transformation takes inspired effort every day and I’m so ready it! Tonight, I’ll be clearing my desk of the last two tasks and making myself a new post-it note with my new focus for the months ahead.

There are big things ahead to do, and the best time is always now!

xoxo
