Los Angeles is prime amongst the cities of the world bejeweled with street art leaping from back alleys, telephone poles, building facades and other unsuspecting places like trash bins. Alexis Hyde, the art force behind Hyde or Die, the best & most relevant art blog on the Internet if I do say so myself (and I do!), has an eye for finding street art blooming in the urban landscape. Here are some of my favorites of 2012 to get you started looking for treasures in your own cityscape…

As Hyde writes "Trashy Warhol spotted in an alley behind La Brea near 6th, Los Angeles, CA" in late March 2012
So… are you ready to start diving into the wild world on street art in your own neighborhood. Its not just Bansky… its far and wide a ton of gems that will get you rooted in the thriving culture of your artistic environment. And, if you find great images, feel free to send them my way!
You can, and should, find Alexis at her blog Hyde or Die to start learning what is really happening in the art world in a way you will both love and be captivated by… or catch her on Instagram where, yes, she’s “hydeordie”…! xoxo Dana
LOVE LOVE LOVE! any idea who’s responsible for these– specifically the Warhol piece? Looks like some pretty impressive freehand painting in addition to stencil work.
Checking to see if I can get it ID’d for you. So glad you dig it! Hyde or Die is the best!
