Feng Shui Tip Of The Day: Unload Your Overwhelm!

Jul 13, 2012 | Feng Shui 101

Subtraction: I write a lot these days about creating boundaries, getting clear and focused.  So, what do you do when you feel totally overwhelmed?  A great exercise is to subtract from your environment.  I like to look at many forms of subtraction: eliminate junk emails from your inbox, delete old text messages from your phone, take out your trash… and also subtract from your calendar or responsibility list.  Delegation is a very critical form of subtraction- you may need help to get certain responsibilities off of your plate.  Subtract from your bulletin board, the collage on your wall, the memorabelia you have displayed.  When you subtract and create more clear space you increase your metal energy which creates focus and a stronger sense of boundaries so that other people and things can not suck your vital life energy!

That is a very good tip about cleaning up your email inbox, most people never do that. I like to keep my email inbox empty, if I receive an email I want to keep I move it to a folder I created with the persons name on it, that way it keeps my emails organized, and out of the inbox. If I receive a spam email that has slipped past the spam blocker I check to see if their is an unsubscribe button, which most do so that helps to cut down on the spam email too.
