Feng Shui Q & A: Do I Need To Kick My Dog Out Of My Bed To Find Love?

Aug 9, 2012 | Feng Shui 101

A reader asked the question: ” Do I need to kick my dog out of the bed to find love?’

My answer:

What a complicated question! First I will ask you this: what kind of love are you looking for?  Seriously.  I personally could never date someone who did not consider Bob a part of the family and while I would not want Bob in bed 24-7 (if you know what I mean!) a man who was averse to Bob being around or jumping on the bed to sleep when he felt like it would likely not be any sort of right fit for me.  That’s the bottom line! Does Bob prevent men from wanting to date me? Nope, quite the opposite!

This is not a cut & dry subject in feng shui. According to the founder of Pyramid School Feng Shui, Nancilee Wydra, in her book, ” Feng Shui And How To Look Before You Love”, sleeping with your dog in your bed is a sign that you are not ready for love.  If you are having problems finding a partner, or finding options, perhaps a luxe bed for your dog could be the start of creating more space to let someone new into that bed of yours.

I personally disagree and EVERY happily married couple I know (they are rare these days, so I pay great attention) lets their dog sleep in bed as they wish, and did so well before they were married.  The dog factor is just one factor of many that create the ideal space to nurture love.

So, you may or may not have to kick your dog out of bed….but it could be worth a try, if you are having problems finding that someone special!
