Feng Shui Q & A: Mobile Homes

Sep 10, 2012 | Feng Shui 101

A reader asked this  fresh and unique feng shui question: “Feng Shui is starting to become a large passion of mine, and I was wondering if you could give any advice on how to create a positive and home-like atmosphere for when traveling in a motor home?”

My Answer:

Good news: the same rules apply to any space, be it mobile or stationary.

In this case, we are dealing with a smaller space and I would focus heavily on decluttering, keeping things sparkling clean and using earth tones and natural materials (cotton, help cloth, etc) to add more of a sense of being grounded as you are travelling.

Also, aromatherapy can go a long way in creating a grounded, comfortable environment.  Lavender is a do-it-all wonder essential oil.  Sandalwood is even more earthy.  Rose can also be anchoring as you frequently travel.  A bit of essential oil can infuse and area with another layer of “information” for our bodies to learn from and experience.

The new issues that a mobile home presents in terms of creating “homey” vibes: make sure that mechanically you are top notch and always prepared for mechanical emergencies. Safety is a big feeling of home.  That said, being stationed in safe quarters can not be underestimated.

I hope some of this is helpful! Happy travels!!!
