When I was in 5th grade my dad took me shopping for back-to-school clothes. It was one of his “free-for-all” trips where basically I could get whatever I wanted. After visiting five big department stores I emerged empty-handed. I just didn’t like anything I saw. My dad looked at me puzzled and then, out of nowhere he said, ” You know what? You don’t just settle for anything. Don’t lose that. When you start settling for what you don’t want your whole life becomes about settling, and all you get is what you don’t want.” Years later, I realized that living this way – never settling- may make you appear to be crazy…or crazy-brilliant…but if you truly go after what you love or have the endurance to stick in there through the confusion and lack of clarity to arrive at what you love and who you love, man is it worth it! Its SOOOO worth it! Don’t settle.

Ha! You know, I try to do that as well. I can be particular. If something catches my eye or heart, I am totally into it. So, I try to look for things that give me that feeling.
