I love color the way people love chocolate or pasta or love itself!
I also happen to be extremely color sensitive.
You may not feel colors as intensely as I do… but with this little exercise you may just heighten your color sensitivity, feel more invigorated and totally inspired.
Here are the basics of how I learned to do color breathing… or, as I like to say, “breathing rainbows.”
Its really simple.
Lay down and get relaxed (but don’t fall asleep!)
I like to count from 100 to 0, it slows me down considerably.
While you get relaxed, take deep breaths.
Now, add a color to the breath you are taking in.
For instance, maybe you start with red. Inhale the red. See and feel it enter your body and fill you up with the color red. Move the color around your body. Send it through your whole body. How does it feel?
When you’re satisfied with that color, try another.
I like to go through the rainbow, one color at a time.
Another fun way to orchestrate this little color exercise is to breathe a specific color into a specific point on your body that is thought to correlate energetically to that color.
The diagram above illustrates the way that you can do this with color.
Inhale red in and out of the base of your spine. Then, a bit higher, breathe in orange. Yellow at your stomach. Then green, blue, violet working your way up your body and a then envision a white light over your head that surrounds your whole body, sort of blending all the colors in this awesome rainbow into white light that makes you glow.
All this said, I don’t believe there is a wrong or right way to breathe and think in color… as long as you feel great!

Can you please explain to me how to “breathe in” color? I’m a bit lost. The thought of the color? Hhmmm…..interesting. Thank you and have a nice day.
yes, the idea is “the thought of the color”… or the image in your mind of the color. if you close your eyes and imagine red, can you imagine it? Or blue? Otr any color? That’s the idea. It is great for your creativity, too!
