About 7 years ago I learned that chlorine can exacerbate immune system problems, and out tap water is almost universally filled with chlorine. While it kills bad bacteria in the water supply, it also kills good bacteria in your body. That’s right, chlorine can disrupt your digestive system, too. And its not just drinking water that is the culprit… Showering in chlorinated water is super-bad, especially if you have pre-existing health issues. Chlorine also dries out your skin, ravages your hair & destroys hair color and generally stinks.
Sadly, that’s not the only bad thing in our water supply, but its a good place to start!
A shower filter- these have been tested as very effective and I’ve used them for years- can take down the chlorine levels in your daily shower significantly. There are high-tech filters, low-tech ones and even filters that add vitamin C to your shower, but the important thing is that they actually get the job done & you keep up with switching to fresh filter cartridges. This one little bit of home detox will pay you many beautiful dividends!
