A reader asked a very cool feng shui question about her dining room table. “I have a feng shui questions for you that I have not been able to get answered. I am wanting to have a built-in bench / nook / banquette put into my dining room so instead of a table & chairs it will be an “L” shape bench with drawers / solid underneath and then table with bench on 3rd side & 4th side open. Does this flow or does the concept of the built-ins go with the same idea as storage under a bed. I saw a link from House of Turquoise last week and fell in love, but just want to make sure I’m not disrupting our energy flow. Thank you:)
My Answer:
I’m not concerned about dining room storage under benches- just don’t use them as giant junk drawers! The reason that its OK to store things here – you aren’t sleeping at a table. When you sleep more than anything you need the “flowing chi/energy” around you.
Also, if you are having this built, I’d suggest the top has rounded edges- especially for the kids but also for the flow of it. Sharp points can be threatening and can “interrupt” the energy flow. It would also be great if you have two extra chars on hand for more “formal” occasions if you don’t have a separate dining room.
Otherwise, its totally gorgeous. Go for it! xoxo Dana
I LOVE this table! Would you mind letting me know where I can find it?
Thank-you,
