White Walls Can Be Brilliant!

Oct 26, 2014 | Home Style

Believe it or not, you don’t have to custom paint your walls in a spectrum of colors to have powerful, custom-feeling design at home. In fact, if you are the kind of dynamic person who is always in a rush and maybe even a bit of a whirlwind, white can be the mind-clearing, pristine and best color for you.

If you’ve felt weird about keeping your walls white, here are some rooms that make the very most of fresh white walls as a blank canvas for whatever you can dare to imagine in your home!

Here, the art leaps straight out at you.  Graphic wow-factor.

With white walls you can easily combine lots of patterns and colors without worrying about overwhelm.  The walls act as a visual resting ground to clear your mind.

You can use texture to overcome what might feel plain about white walls.  Pretty dramatic, right?

And look how well art flies off the white walls!  It’s such an amazing backdrop for a gallery wall where even delicate sculptural art can be seen with clarity.

(this is the fresh white headed onto my art-filled hallway walls)

White is a color that helps you to curate, to select, to design with simplicity in mind.  If you have a tendency to get cluttered, more white can help make that habit fade.  Since white highlights everything that is beside it, the notion of mess becomes less possible to tolerate.  White is also very pure, innocent and ethereal… a simple and interesting twist to create ethereal decor!

What do you think? Do you have white walls? Do you like them? Most of my walls are white right now and I have to say, it’s very refreshing…! xoxo Dana
