Gratitude is a scientifically proven way to thrive. You can see some of the recent studies HERE on gratitude science.
If that’s not motivating enough, gratitude in feng shui has a direct impact on your finances and self-worth.
Personally, I love gratitude lists, like writing down a few things every day that are blessings. Telling people how much I love them is a favorite thing of mine to do.
Its all very life-expanding.
What if gratitude was something on autopilot? What if you didn’t have to actively think about it— what if it just surrounded you everywhere you turn in your life?
Today’s feng shui is all about immersing yourself in spaces that shower your life in gratitude at every turn. When you live with this kind of connection to love and appreciation, sky’s the limit as to what you can create!
Surround yourself with living love.
Everything alive in your space- the people, pets, plants, food- all bring “life force” or “chi” as its popularly called in feng shui, to your space.
When I see a home with dying plants strewn about, already I have a message that whoever lives in the home has little time, energy or thought to care for things that are alive. That said, when you love your plants you need far less of a green thumb to keep them going, and you’ll seek advice to keep them thriving.
Even if the people you love are not living with you, keeping photos of them on display is a great way to infuse your home with their presence.
Pets with their own comfy beds and toys, fish and reptiles with clean, healthy spaces to live… this is all a form of gratitude in action.
Your kitchen and its contents are an energetic way to automatically have more gratitude, as abundance and nourishment- especially in fresh fruit and vegetables- bring more abundance to life.
Care for your space is a way to show gratitude on a daily basis.
The more you care for everything around you, the more connected you will fee; and the more supported you will be.
Taking the time to do daily dusting, dishes and a little housecleaning is an incredible way to grow in gratitude every single day without thinking about it. Your space is a reflection of you, so you want to make that reflection really amazing!
Make sure you have sacred space around you… a place for you to intuitively check-in with yourself.
The first thing I see when I wake up is my Buddhist altar. There’s no way I can escape gratitude from the earliest moments of the day. Even when I am in Japan, I am deeply connected to life through my practice. In the misdt of a little village near Mt. Fuji, I am dramatically plugged into a feeling of being at home, perhaps more than neong in my actual home in Los Angeles!
Sacred space can be a window with a great view, a place to breathe, nap or read great books…
Sacred space isn’t religious, really, its more sacred because its insisted upon and treated as a vital part of the day.
Sacred space makes you feel at home, wherever you are, if you know what makes your space feel sacred.
When I lived in Paris as a teenager I would wander around with a giant bottle of Evian and a journal. Wherever I went for years after that, a bottle of Evian and a journal made anwhere I was feel like home.
Can you think of a few things that you can bring into your home and daily routine that make you feel this sense of home no matter where you are?
Gratitude exercises are awesome: from lists to vision boards to affirmations to month-long group challenges. Gratitude in action, however- built into your home and life routines- takes this idea to the next level. There’s nothing quite like the synergy and power of living with love everywhere around you.
This you can create, simply, today. This will expand your life and infuse it with magic.
xoxo Dana

Thanks for sharing this post on gratitude and bringing it into your everyday life through what surrounds you. I completely agree that your space and what you interact with or carry in your daily life reflects and affects the life you live and the person you are. So giving gratitude daily for what you have is extremely important.
They also say it’s really important to share gratitude as it creates great energy not only within you but between the people that surround you.
