Everyone’s super-busy these days, but it seems like some people turn their busy into an empire and some turn their busy into life’s misery, you know?
And when you’ve hit that point of misery and confusion and blah… the thinking starts to take over.
For me… everything comes to a grinding halt when wandering thoughts take over and rule the day.
Today’s feng shui is all about being busy in a way that fills your life with love and prosperity. It’s the only way I know how to do anything that feels – and is- exciting. It’s the cure for confusion. It’s the antidote to fear. It’s all about immersing yourself in making and creating and living in flow.
Focus in this awesome way and incredible things sort of fall in your lap while you’re busy in the right way— busy in love with every minute of your life!
There’s a beautiful philosophy that is quoted in ancient Buddhist texts where I first encountered the idea 15 years ago. In the New Age and self-help worlds it rings true to so many today, but even thousands of years ago it was a key to life:
“Be the master of your mind, don’t let your mind be your master.”
Letting my mind wander off, I can create or destroy anything in a haze of circles and spirals.
Do you know what I mean?
Taking yourself out of success, talking yourself into problems in life, trying so hard to “make the right moves” that you make no moves.
Has this happened to you?
When this happens I know one thing has taken hold: I don’t have a compelling enough vision guiding me. I don’t want something enough that I am immersed in its creation.
Without a vision of a goal as a North Star, everything gets hazy and it’s really easy to get pulled off into a zillion directions.
What would happen if you were so busy in life working toward a dream that you couldn’t stop to wonder or worry? Not busy with chores and “busy work” and trying to calculate what’s right and what’s wrong…. But, rather, busy with creating products and taking steps ahead and swimming in experiences wholly and fully.
Would you have time to think? Time to indulge in relationships that are toxic? Time to try to predict the future and worry about things?
If I have too much time to wonder and worry, when I’ve let too much noise into my life, when too much chaos has an opening to enter… that’s when I know I don’t have a big enough vision for the future and my own mind masters me.
Having a big vision that is soooooo compelling I can’t look away is the only thing that seems to focus my mind.
It’s hard to worry about success when you’re busy creating success.
But when you’re calculating instead of creating, it’s a big black hole.
Without a North Star, all the options flood your life.
What about this? Or this? Have you tried…? You probably need…? What about…?
In business I’ve heard it referred to as chasing “bright shiny objects.”
In life, I’ve grown up with a sense that too many options just pull your mind all over the place.
It’s a mess.
Are you doing it?
If you need to create a North Star to focus your energy, choose what feels best. Keep it to yourself and only share with your very closest people who are 100% supportive. Fill in that vision with full color and detail… And start every day taking steps.
Write it all out on paper. Make it extremely clear and know what you have to do each and every day to make it happen.
It’s not a big deal. It’s quite simple.
Here’s the deal: that vision that is guiding you has to be so exciting and so uplifting and so magnetic…
You have to want it so bad it’s crazy. And …not want is out of desperation. Or because you need the money. Or because it’s what you think you’re supposed to do.
You have to want that vision fulfilled enough that it pulls you and excited you and you’d be willing to do almost anything to make it happen. At least that’s the only way anything works for me. And for my clients. And for everyone around me that’s living their dreams.
Do you want something in a vibrant, clear, amazing way?
If you’re “all over the place” chances are you can tigthen up your home organization, too. Likely you can make your home more purposeful and add more flow. The DIY Feng Shui guide can help you do it in a few weeks, designing your home so your space is supporting those big dreams.
Focus your home so that your vision is spotighted. It’s all part of making the feng shui magic happen. Make sure there’s clear space, clean counters, lots of order. Get rid of distractions that pull you away from what you want. Eliminate the sugar from the pantry or the TV from the living room or any other distrations that take you away from what you love.
Don’t dilute your power. Don’t be “busy” for the sake of being busy. It’s all draining. It lets the wandering mind win, and you won’t get what you want.
Simple stuff can make this the best year ever. Be clear, be excited and eliminate too much to focus on at once. Pick your North Star, and create like mad crazy.
It’s incredible what you can do with that much intention, passion and love.
xoxo Dana
