Simple Feng Shui To Rewire Your Brain & Change Your Life

Apr 14, 2016 | Creativity

I love real permanent and resonant life changes, the kind of shifts that don’t just stick around for a little while… but deeply change things in beautiful ways.

Don’t you?

I mean, doesn’t everyone?

How to do it though… how to actually make a change stick… is the conundrum sometimes.

While there are lots of ideas about willpower and positive thinking and affirmations and it’s all awesome, there are a lot of ways to sort of boost that super-positive and deep want for change.

It starts with the simple principle of Feng Shui in my way: your life and your home are all just a reflection or a snapshot of your mind.  You’ll see both conscious as well as subconscious messages all over the place, played out in the cycles of your relationships, the state of your closets, the amount of care given to your space… How much you love and connect to your job… Your finances… Your whole life is a reflection of your deepest as well as most prominent beliefs and thought patterns.

In brain terms, you see your most active neural pathways come to life in your life.

And when you create new neural pathways… new habits… new visions of life… new beliefs… and you feel them in your core… that’s when the exciting change can happen in a far more permanent way!

Start With LOVE.

If you think of your subconscious mind as the real controller of life when you aren’t fully present  (which is often!)  in many ways, the way to make deep change is to go deeper with your methods and actions to create powerful new habits… that you love!

Authenticity Associates explains:  ” According to Michael Merzenich from the book The Brain that Changes Itself, practicing a new habit under the right conditions, can change hundreds of millions and possibly billions of the connections between the nerve cells in our neural pathways. The human brain is made up of an estimated 100 billion neurons making a total of 100 trillion neural connections.”

Neural pathways are supported by action and emotion.

Meaning: the more you act out stuff the deeper the pattern will run in your life.  But you have to really LOVE the new things you are doing to make a big impact.

So, if you’re trying to change your mind to embrace a diet you hate, it’s not charged with emotional greatness.  If you’re trying to create habits to support a broken relationship, you likely won’t have the good juju to pull off a real change.  If you’re looking to start a yoga program because you ” should” but you hate yoga… it’s not going to be easy.

Choose new habits you love and you’ll be ahead of the game.

The Mind Unleashed has an awesome post about creating new neural pathways, and this is another  beautifully simple way they explain neural pathways:
“When you understand how neural pathways are created in the brain, you get a front row seat for truly comprehending how to let go of habits. Neural pathways are like superhighways of nerve cells that transmit messages. You travel over the superhighway many times, and the pathway becomes more and more solid. You may go to a specific food or cigarettes for comfort over and over, and that forms a brain pathway. The hopeful fact, however, is that the brain is always changing and you can forge new pathways and create new habits. That’s called the neuroplasticity of the brain.”
This is an awesome technique and while a bit “foreign” to those of you who’ve never done “brain-re-wiring” it’s fairly simple and worth a go!

You can also do meditation, visualization and immerse yourself in your new life direction… but some cutting-edge energy techniques are always welcome in my world!

Now, for the Feng Shui of it.

If you create a home that is a reflection of the new habits and routines (and neural pathways) you want to create… you’re constantly feeding yourself positive, reinforcing messages everywhere you look.  Simply cleaning house can be a seismic leap forward.  Some DIY Feng Shui can get you going even further.

There are wild techniques to re-program your subconscious mind.  There are incredible modalities that report success rates in clearing trauma, creating new habits and even overcoming lifelong phobias in speed.  Spontaneous healing.  Miraculous transformation.

I believe in all of it.  But all of it is supported by practice.  Even the best changes require practice.  After all, the same way you can change to something positive you can also pick up something newly negative… So practice the greatness.  Don’t force it… flow with it.  Let it fuel you.  Stay inspired… and design your life with loads of love!

xoxo
