I’ve been big on this lately, and it’s an idea that can be magnificently life-changing:
Thoughts become things.
Nothing new in that. You’ve heard it before. It’s the premise of The Secret and The Law Of Attraction and even some religious philosophies.
But, there’s one thing to know it and another to actually do it. Today we’re talking about doing it!
Here’s one very easy way to create more amazing things and keep your thoughts on much more of what you want to experience.

The more you can shift out of down-spirals of thought or distracting thoughts that turn negative and into a more supportive, creative frame of mind the better it will be for your emotional, physical and prosperous well-being.
Know when the balance has tipped.
There’s no perfect rainbow unicorn world and we all need to know things that are not perfectly positive in order to survive and thrive.
I’ve noticed there’s a tipping point for me. For example, I can listen to news for a few minutes or have a few minutes of a downturning conversation and it’s no big deal. It’s easy to shake off and stay in the flow of what I want to create.
If I go past that point, whether it’s ten minutes or five or twenty, the balance has shifted. Now, there’s a lot of energy behind something negative and I’ve hooked into it.
I’ve heard from so many people that they’ve experienced the same dynamic. We all have a tipping point where things turn down and gain speed in their downturn.
The goal here is not to struggle to tip it back to positive.
Abraham Hicks calls this “swimming against the current.” It takes a lot of energy. It’s really exhausting and not creative.
Self-care can tip the scales back to the light side of things without effort.
Right now, I’m about to spend a few hours cleaning, doing my spiritual practice and cooking after writing. All four of these things are big self-care practices for me.
My qualifications for self-care: it’s got to be fun, it’s got to feel fulfilling in some way and it’s apt to leave me happier than before I started.
What are the things you do that feel like self-care? It’s not just bubble baths and massages. It might be– styling your hair, putting on makeup, reorganizing your pantry, taking a long nap or daydreaming.
There’s no one way it has to go. Just think FUN, FULFILLING and HAPPINESS.
If you’re uninspired, let your re-inspiration be your guide.
This is one of the most simple ways to stay in a dynamic flow.
When I’m not feeling like doing anything I have to do, I start by doing whatever will bring me to a place of more inspiration.
Listening to an afternoon full of podcasts, watching gardening videos for hours, reading the book I’ve been dying to read– all of it is re-inspiration.
When I don’t have the luxury of that much time, I’ll do a meditation, take a walk or a quick and lovely shower to re-boot my energy.
Then, I begin.
The key to all this is that force doesn’t work.
Force creates negative feedback loops.
If you force yourself to do your job, find something (ANYTHING) to love about it and let that be your guiding light.
If you’ve forced yourself to workout, instead find better ways that you actually enjoy.
If you’re forcing yourself to do anything, you’re essentially still swimming against the current. It won’t elicit the best thoughts. It won’t keep you focused on awesome things.
Challenge is awesome.
Force is not.
Challenge is exciting or meaningful, expansive or, in some ways, dutiful.
Force doesn’t have that feeling.
We all know when we’re forcing things.
Self-care instead.
Great thoughts instead.
More inspiration instead.
And, amazing outcomes will greet you as you go!
