It’s time for a progress check!
There’s so much happening in the world that feels surreal, and so much happening close to home as well.
I used to try to block things out and just carry on, powering through things for as long as possible until, ultimately, I could no longer push myself forward.
While it’s not great to dwell on negatives, it is important to make sure you’re getting everything you need on every level.
This world runs on energy and your energy is incredibly important to light up everything in your life in powerful ways!
So, I will start with the question I ask often of my clients, Feng Shui Camp Members and Students in The School of Intention Feng Shui training program:
How are you doing?
You might want to set a little reminder on your calendar daily (or every few days, if you prefer) to check in with yourself.
Cultivating more self-awareness can be your greatest creative fuel.
How are you feeling?
It’s OK to not be OK and in the moments you are not OK, I urge you to avoid ignoring it. There’s a saying that first like gives you small signs and then they get bigger and bigger until you can’t ignore them any more. You don’t need to welcome in those bigger signs. It’s OK to not be OK and to acknowledge it fully.
If there are small things to handle, put them high on your priority list.
If there are bigger issues availing themselves, enlist all the help you need.
That said, you might be feeling a whole magnitude of feelings that range through the full spectrum of emotions and acknowledging all of these feelings is epic.
You’ll start to recognize when you need more sleep, more family time, more water and food, more order, less noise… and all sorts of things that you may not have realized if you hadn’t stopped to check in with yourself.
How is life flowing?
Do you feel productive? Are things feeling slowed down or limited in some ways? Are you enjoying things? Have you felt rushed, pressured or out of sync with your schedule?
If there are things that aren’t flowing as you’d like them to, it may be time to flow more within yourself!
Do some yoga or stretching. Take a bath or a shower. Meditate for a short while.
Now, look at whatever is out of sync and brainstorm ways to connect with the flow again!
How are you focusing?
Or, a good question is, “What are you focusing on?”
We’re always focused on something even if that something is a lot of Netflix binge-watching or random drama. It’s something.
Here’s one of the great things I’ve learned and strongly see to play out as a fact: If you have a hard time focusing on your goals, they may not be the goals for you.
Goals that are exciting enough don’t fade often (even daily) into the backdrop of noise and distractions.
Do you have exciting things you’re working toward?
Right now might be a time to refine your dreams so they’re bigger and brighter!
How are you celebrating?
YES: How are you celebrating?
In the weeks ahead I have a bunch of gifts planned to get myself as well as gifts planned to give to others.
I also do something celebratory— like the nap I’m about to luxuriously take, a great bath, a hike mid-day when I’d usually be “working”– every single day.
This is total magic for your life. And, it doesn’t require spending money. It might be cooking something great from food in your fridge, having a call with a friend, laying in the park in the sun…
Such a small amount of time dedicated to keeping yourself in greater alignment and well-being will reap so many abundant rewards.
You are infinitely worth all of the investments you make in yourself!
